Teresa Thomas, Realtor® |
I would like to apply for the position as your Realtor®, so here is my resume. Sheila Cook, Realtor ®Private Office: (661) 269-2315 Place of Birth: Hazleton, North Dakota (I'm not saying when) What I learned growing up on a farm: A strong Work Ethic and Great Family Values. I was educated by long hours and difficult physical work. I discovered that if work was done poorly it was a lot more work fixing it and doing it right the second time. So I learned early to work hard and do it right the first time. This developed a dedication to doing the best job possible. Prior work experiences: Leaving the farm for New York City to become a nanny, at the age of 17, was a culture shock, but I survived, learned a great deal and prospered. This experience made the move to Los Angeles (to be closer to my sister) easy. I began working at a law office as a "Trainee" hoping to work my way up from receptionist. My dedication and strong work ethic paid off. I was soon trained and promoted through the positions of receptionist, secretary, legal secretary then becoming the primary training person for training our office's legal secretaries. I ended my legal career as a "Case Coordinator" for the attorneys in our office. I was in charge of a staff of several legal secretaries and paralegals. This law office specialized in real estate issues and this sparked my interest in the real estate field. My Real Estate Career: While working at the law offices, I met my husband, who had been a real estate broker. When we bought our Acton home, in 1986, through a local agent, I thought this would be a perfect career for me, working with people and having a career that could grow with hard work. I started my real estate career in Santa Clarita working for Realty World® then RE/MAX®. This was in 1989, just as the real estate market was starting to slow. It was a tough time to start my new career but I really enjoyed working with people and this coupled with hard work allowed me to progress in a market that caused many agents to quit. I won several awards for service and productivity while working at RE/MAX®. In 1997, I made a decision to specialize in the communities of Acton and Agua Dulce. I joined a local Century 21 office and at the end of 2005, I became a member of Keller Williams®. It was a difficult decision to move to Acton/Agua Dulce area because I knew that there is not nearly as much real estate activity here as in the larger Santa Clarita Market. I have never regretted this decision since I really enjoy working in Acton and Agua Dulce. Because I specialize in these two areas, I know the local real estate market very well. This specialization coupled with much hard work has helped me become a top producing agent. Community Involvement and Knowledge: I am a very active member in our community. I am very involved with our schools, serving as PTO and/or Booster President for many years. For five years, I was a "member of the board" with our local Sierra Youth Sports Baseball League. I continue to support our schools and community. I take it seriously to know everything I can about our local schools and what is going on in our community so I can better serve my clients. The Acton Womens Club honored me as their choice for "1997 Woman of the Year." I was very proud also to received an award from High Desert School for my volunteer work. I work very hard to ensure my clients real estate needs are met. I attribute my success in real estate to hard work and putting the needs of my clients first. If you would like information about my marketing and service plan, please don't hesitate to contact me at my private number at (661) 269-2315 or email me at Sheila@actonhomes.com. If you are looking to buy or sell, please select me as your Realtor®.
